And its here! The long awaited iTunes 7.7 has been released, allowing you to hook up your shiny new iPhone when you get it and use many of its new features. iTunes 7.7 introduces the fanstastic App Store and the ability to use your iPhone as a remote to control iTunes (again, still not active until 2.0FW is released).

Still to be released/activated by Apple to take full advantage of your iPhone (new or old) is the new 2.0 firmware and MobileMe including an update to intergrate it with current Mac’s.
Mac users can find the update on Software Updates and Window users in Australia can manually download from apple.com or wait for Apple Software Updater to be updated.
You can also check out the App Store, where you can buy your apps before the iPhone is released, follow this link to see all the APP-le goodness (a little pun for you there)
To enable the Applications button all you have to do is go into Preferences and make sure the “Applications” box is ticked otherwise it wont show up.
Keep checking back for all the latest news as it is released!

Ive tried to install 7.7 twice now and i still dont have the app stuff. Can someone create a direct link or tell me what im doing wrong. DO i have to fully uninstall itunes?
or am i missing something completly
to have the app store you need to have an actual iphone connected…
The apps store doesn’t appear in my itunes the way it is represented in the image above. I can look through the apps via the itunes store. Under Podcasts, it says “App Store - new”.
Also, MobileMe came online for about 1/2 h at ~9pm. Looks very cool.
i typed “app” into the store search bar it then came up with a couple of songs and 2 apps i clicked see more now i can see about 30 apps
The app stores now there in the aussie itunes store
I have become wotiluvmyiphone

@ itunesmishap
Well the problem here is that you’re not using a Mac. Have you tried turning off all firewalls and internet security?
@ Roger
yes roger i do agree vista is the worst of piece of shit to ever hit the market,i tried turning off all firewalls and internet security but still it doesnt proceed, apparently not much forums discuss abt this issues too
@ itunesmishap
Yeah My boss has just gone back from vista to xp for the business, and I warned him that vista was crap. Getting back to the issue I think the problem is that it needs to be uninstalled and then download the new version if you haven’t already done so… Good luck mate
@Roger
Got it finally fixed mate, had to muck my head around with vista for 6 to 7 hours,it still wouldnt manage to let me install bonjour service but managed to get itunes 7.7 installed and working fine !
Cheers!
iTunes 7.7 works fine on vista for me.
