Yeah it is, the other give away is that it you look at the source on that page (right click and select View Source) you see this near the top:

<META name=”KEYWORDS” content=”Strathfield Car Radios Products Catalogue, Apple iPhone 3G, DVD Players…”

If you look in the Meta name = KEYWORDS you will see Apple iPhone 3G

So for sure Strathfield will be selling it but i do know that Strathfield can do deals that other resellers can’t do, so wether it will be sold in all other resellers (like Allphones…) is yet to be seen. Lets hope so.

Sorry i should point out that you need to View Source on the Countdown page that was linked in the article and not the Catalogue page :D

Another interesting thing is that the time it’s counting down to is midnight, wonder if that really means they’ll do a midnight opening and launch on July 11 :D

I’ve heard some Optus stores will be opening from 5:30am-Midnight on the 11th. Personally I think staying open that long is pointless, because if they open that early, they will surely have sold out by hours before midnight. Whether or not they actually are open for that long I can’t confirm, it’s just a rumour.

I really hope my Voda store isn’t open for ridiculous hours like that. I seriously doubt any store will get enough stock to be able to sell them for that long.

Then again TB, iPhone buying and registration is supposed to take a good 15mins instore.
So 15mins processing requests from 5:30AM till 12PM (18.5hrs) = 74 iPhones
(Assuming you have one staff dedicated to iPhones all day)

Walked past a Strathfield store today in Bondi Junction and they actually had a picture of the iPhone 3G in store saying coming soon acquire within. Without out a doubt it seems that Optus and Vodafone “resellers” like Strathfield will to sell the iPhone 3G.

Without a doubt Optus and Vodafone resellers will be selling the iphone, eventually. But I think Optus and Vodafone will be waiting to see how much stock they get from Apple. They will probably want to “pool” as much stock as they can into their own stores before they start stocking reseller.

I have a contact that works for the distributors for Optus and they have been informed as part of the distribution requirements for optus that all the initial i-phone allocation has been more than taken by the pre-registration deposits optus were offering and that is why they are not taking them any more -

I have a “breaking news flash” :P

I was fooling around with the countdown timer and I clicked “forward” and it says “Now available call 13 11 77 for your nearest store” Now remembering that this ends at midnight it could be said that there will be a midnight release because at midnight (I presume) It will end and come up with that message and because it says “available now” it’s saying it will be available at midnight.

Guys, keep your eyes peeled, Crazy John will be releasing more information on the iPhone soon.
I just chatted with them and they said they haven´t received any word of pricing from Vodafone but they did say it will be cheaper than Vodafone.

Trips: Oh Thank God that it’s not going to cost too much, ready speculation I was sure it would be costing a grand or more.

Hmm if optus and voda release in a big space of each other the last one wil probabky have the best plans. Personally I’m waiting to check all for prepaid before I decide which I’m going with. Though most likely optus because my Mum’s work is right above one.
